Sculpted Soapstone Horse on Painted Wooden Base

A soapstone sculpture of an abstracted horse mounted on a wooden base created in 1992. The work depicts a abstracted horse with contrasting smooth surface and hard raised edges. Signed to the inside of the base ‘Tsonakwa’, numbered ‘1951’, and dated in marker. The wooden base is painted in bright blue and pink with an etched geometric sign. Presented attached to the wooden base.

Condition

- some wear and smudges around base; scratches to the surface of the work; large scratch to the verso of the sculpture. work is slightly loose on base.
