A collection of four Staffordshire historical and romantic blue teapots circa 1805-40. The pieces were produced by various makers including Adams in transfer printed earthenware bodies. Featured is La Fayette at Washington’s Tomb by Enoch Wood & Sons circa 1825-30. The pieces include two London shaped teapots, as well as, round forms all in deep cobalt underglaze blue with other patterns including a net with flowers after a Herculaneum original, a rural scene and a floral example. Printed and impressed marks on some pieces.
Condition
- to fair; heavily restored on the base on with degraded over painting; losses; restoration around the rims; chips, cracks, and crazing.
