Louis XVI Style Pietra Dura Bird Gilt Wood Side Table, Circa 1920s

Item Details

A Louis XVI style pietra dura bird gilt wood side table after French master cabinet maker Adam Weisweiler. Circa 1920s, this French table features an Italian pietra dura inlay, from the Florence gallery of G. Ugolini. It is beautifully detailed with a multi-colored bird and pomegranate marble inlay, on honed slate. This vintage gilt wood table features a fretwork apron, four tapered round fluted legs, and an interlaced stretcher with a central urn and floral swags, reminiscent of work by French cabinet marker Adam Weisweiler. The table is thought to be manufactured in France, with an Italian marble surface from G. Ugolini. (Please see item #004 for the original paper label in French with G. Ugolino’s information.) G. Ugolini is the oldest mosaic art gallery in Florence, established in 1868, specializing in authentic craftsmanship.

This table coordinates with table #17CIN491-004.
