A hand-knotted Persian style area rug. The rug features a delicate central pendant medallion in black, cream, pink, and light blue on an off white field. The field features a lattice pattern of diamond shapes that each enclose a floral arrangement in a matching palette with spots of bright red accents. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a pattern of eight pointed medallions and cartouches with florals in cream, deep red, and black. The rug has overcast edges and a dense, tied wool warp fringe. Unmarked.
