A grouping of four vintage intaglio prints on paper of German political cartoons from the Napoleonic Wars. These realistic prints make light of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) in various situations, including with a large goat on his back and seated on a throne of human skulls. Each print includes a caption in German in plate beneath the image. These prints are presented unsigned under mats and glass, in silver tone wood frames wired to hang.
Condition
- foxing and toning throughout all images; slight fading to mats; abrasion and wear to frames.
