Queen Anne Style Bonnet-Top Highboy in the Massachusetts Taste

Item Details

A Queen Anne style bonnet-top highboy in the Massachusetts taste. The cherry case has a bonnet top with a broken-arch pediment accented with three flame-and-urn finials. The top section has three small drawers over four stacked drawers, all set between fluted stiles. The bottom section has a long drawer over three small drawers. It has drop finials along the apron and is raised on cabriole legs with pad feet. The center of both the top and bottom drawers has a carved shell front with knob pull. The rest of the drawers have a simple bail on brass plate; the long drawers have a center escutcheon on matching plate. All nine drawers have dovetail joinery. The spindle finials are removable. No visible maker’s marks.
