A Japanese ceramic ginger jar. This piece features an ovoid-shouldered shape with a tan background, black, red, and blue concentric lines, floral designs, and depictions of ornately dressed figures and architecture. The figures are dressed in black and red robes with gilt floral detailing. The underside is stamped ‘Kutani, Japan’.

Condition

- to fair; lid has crack and break that has been repaired; glue reside on the inner side of lid; crazing throughout.
