A large semi-antique wool Daghestani soumak area rug. The wool rug is woven in colors of blues, reds and orange in a lattice pattern of large star medallions, framed in a violet lattice, having figural animal and symbolic elements throughout. It has a quatrefoil arrow primary border with a large hooked band at the outer edge. It has overcast edges and natural, undyed wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
