Collection of 1950s and 60s Thai Silk Items
Item Details
A collection of six Thai silk textiles. Includes a black and gold thread embroidered textile; a pink and white thread embroidered textile; a blue and white brocade textile; a white damask textile with woven fringe; a purple, brown and metallic gold thread checked textile; and a printed blue floral textile. The collection comes with a typed informational card on Thai Silk and Chen-Mai, dated in pen 1954 and a Thong Seng Ltd. Partnership receipt dated 1969.
Condition
- minor fraying on all items
- white: some slight spots, some slight discoloration
- black and gold: slight holes at fabric creases
- purple: some snags
- dark blue: some stains
- brown, purple, gold: good
- light blue: good
