A signed serigraph titled Clowning Around by listed American artist Joseph Trippetti (born 1923). Modeled after one of Trippetti’s cloisonne designs, This limited edition print depicts two clowns performing at the center of a medieval festival. The work is signed in graphite in the lower right, and hand numbered 85 in an edition of 300. It is presented loose, unframed.

Born in Philadelphia, Joseph Trippetti studied at the University of California at Berkeley before being drafted into the army. Upon returning, he continued his studies at the Philadelphia School of Art, and also the Sheffield School of Arts and Crafts in England. Trippetti is best known for his works with enamels and contemporary cloisonne designs. He has been a supervisor at the Currier Art Center, a teacher at the Worcester Craft Center, and Director of the league of New Hampshire Craftsmen. His works have been displayed in the Wichita Center for the Arts in Kansas: the Lowe Gallery of Art in Miami, Florida; the Currier Gallery of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire; and the Long Island Beach Museum of Art in California.
