Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Carpet Runner
Item Details
A semi-antique Persian carpet runner. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of bright pink, dusty pink, cerulean, taupe, cream, celadon, tangerine, and camel. It begins with a vertical row of star medallions with pendants at the tops and bottoms, over a bright pink field. Surrounding the medallions are garlands of flowers and partial medallions along the field’s edges. The field is framed by three borders, including a stylized herati primary border over taupe and meandering carnation minor borders over tangerine and cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short tan wool warp fringe. It is labeled on the reverse.
