A silver plate bride’s basket by the Meriden Britannia Co. (established 1852, Meriden, CT). This piece features flaring petaled sides with a blossom and foliate rim and a hinged arching handle. It rises on a flaring pedestal base that is marked underneath ‘Meriden Brit’a Co’, along with the shape number 1491.

Condition

- some surface wear with markings and some significant tarnishing; the base does not stand up straight and the whole basket wobbles
