Pair of Thai Buddhist Bowls

A pair of Buddhist bowls from Thailand. These bowls are handmade with eight strips of metal which symbolizes the eightfold path of Buddhism. The metal is hammered into shape, soldered together and polished to a shine, The Buddhist monks place the bowls or ‘bats’ as they are called on the steps of the temples to receive their food donations. The base of the bowls are rounded causing the bowl to rock and tip forward.
