Three Partially-Nude Japanese Woodblock Portraits
Item Details
A folding folio of three vintage Japanese woodblock prints on paper, depicting partially nude Japanese portraits. They are all vintage woodblock reproductions of original antique woodblock prints by extremely well-listed ukiyo-e printmakers (left to right) Yoshitoshi (月岡 芳年, 1839 – 1932), Chōbunsai Eishi (鳥文斎 栄之, 1756 – 1829), and Utagawa Kunisada (歌川 国貞, 1786 – 1865). These reproductions have white floral embellishments and an indecipherable artist’s seal are printed to the margin of each. The pieces are mounted to a trifold white sheet of cardstock, and are presented without framing. A tag with information about the pieces, though some misinformation is included, is attached to the piece’s verso.
