Mirror with Print of Charles Louis Lingée's "Les Confidences"

A mirror with a tinted, unsigned copy of Les Confidences to its verso. Les Confidences, believed to have been engraved by Charles Louis Lingée (1748-1819) after an artwork by artists Johann Heinrich Eberts (1726-1793) and Sigmund Freudenberger (1745-1801), depicts a pair of young women in deep conversation on a small couch, one gently resting her hand on the other’s arm. The piece features a carved wooden frame and handle-like hanging hardware to one end.

Condition

- some scratches to wooden frame; very dusty throughout; toning and foxing to print.
