Antique Victorian Eastlake Walnut Spinet Desk with Oak Stool
Item Details
An antique Victorian Eastlake walnut spinet desk with an oak stool. The desk has a two tier top surface, which folds up to reveal a workspace with pigeonholes at the back. The work space overhangs a bottom cabinet with blind panel doors, flanked by curled corbels with scrolled detail at the top and bottom; it stands on a conforming plinth base. The workspace cover has a burl veneer across the front and a carved shell and leaf applied cup handle. The stiles have incised geometric designs. The stool has a circular, caned seat on an oak frame with turned, splayed legs connected by double box stretchers.
