A lithograph on paper titled Bonjour Paris after a painting by artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985). In this Surrealist piece, the Eiffel Tower is anthropomorphized with a face and arm, and a large rooster is perched on a string of buildings, face even with that of the Tower. The sky is a brilliant blue and the city is cast in a vibrant red and blue light. It is signed in plate and by hand to the lower right corner, and printer’s information is printed to the lower center. The piece is presented behind a mat and glass in a frame that is wired for hanging.
Condition
- light wear to frame; some toning to paper; signature has faded significantly.
