Item Details

An antique Chinese spindle-back side chair. The hardwood, most likely elm, frame retains an old, if not original, black-painted finish. It features mortise and tenon construction with a round horizontal crest and four slightly curved, round spindles to the back. It has a rectangular, plank seat and straight round legs with scalloped brackets between the front legs. It is finished at the bottom front with a flat foot rest. There are no maker’s marks.
