Vintage Reproduction Prints and Pages from Johann Jakob Scheuchzer's "Physica Sacra"

Item Details

A small collection of pages and reproduction prints from an early twentieth century copy of Johann Jakob Scheuchzer’s Physica Sacra, also known as the Kupfer-Bibel, meaning Copper Bible. The pivotal work by Swiss doctor and scientist Johann Jakob Scheuchzer (b, 1672-1733) was originally published between the years 1731 to 1735 and is Scheuchzer’s scholarly attempt to blend scientific discovery and theory in the natural world with the traditional teachings of the Christian church. The work was splendidly illustrated with many hand colored copper plate engravings. This collection includes several pages and reproduction prints in the original German.
