An oil painting on canvas by listed American artist Roger Merkel (20th/21st centuries). The piece depicts the portrait of a cocker spaniel lying placidly on the green grass of a lawn. The dog is set against the backdrop of a home patio topped with terra cotta planters. The work is signed in black paint to the lower left. It is presented without glass in a brown wooden frame with black detailing, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- splatter stains to canvas at lower left; minor wear to frame; tears to backing paper.
