A graphite drawing of a figure on paper by an artist signing the piece ‘J. Moore,’ after an Edward Sheriff Curtis (1868-1952) photograph titled Indian Warrior Wearing a Buffalo Head Dress. This highly-rendered drawing depicts the subject, a man named Bull Chief, in a horned headdress, a stoic expression on his face. The piece is signed to its lower right and is double-matted under glass in a beveled black and silver tone frame. There is a hanging wire and a short article on Curtis present to the verso.
Condition
- fair; some toning to paper; drawing and liner are slightly buckled; abrasions and wear to frame.
