Ceramic and Gourd Collection Featuring Van Briggle

A collection of ceramic and gourd vessels. This collection includes a white ceramic vase by Van Briggle with a long neck and an arched handle which bridges from the rim to the base. This vase is signed on the bottom. Also included is a hollowed gourd which has been carved on its side to illustrate a Llamas and trees, with a star cut fitted lid; created by the maker using smoke to color the gourd, then incising it to draw the imagery. Included is a smaller hand thrown Cuban stoneware vase with embossed with hatch-work lines making up a central band of patterning. It is painted with horizontal stripes on the top and bottom sides. This vase is stamped on the bottom and labeled ‘Oscar Santander Rodriguez, Ceramista’.
