Hand-Thrown and Sculpted Stoneware "Medusa" Lamp

A hand-thrown and sculpted stoneware lamp. The base of this single-socket lamp is made of copper red and tan-glazed stoneware in the shape of a jug. It features a cameo framing a woman’s calm face in white satin glazed ceramic, with ribbons of applied red clay, representing the snakes of Medusa, surrounding the cameo. The piece has been signed indiscernibly in the clay on the underside. When tested, the lamp powered on.

Condition

- the face on the lamp could benefit from gentle cleaning; the lamp does not include a harp; when tested, it powered on.
- vintage two-prong plug.
