A lithograph on silk titled Louis-Auguste after a pastel by French portraitist Maurice Quentin de La Tour (1704-1788). In this print, the young Louis-Auguste (later King Louis XVI) sits facing left and wearing a red coat, sash, and other regalia. His hair is coiffed and powdered, and he sits in front of a dark gay-blue backdrop. The print is an oval of rich color within the white rectangle of the printing stone. It is presented behind glass in a wood frame that is wired for hanging.

- to fair; image not perfectly printed on silk; toning present; each corner chipped on frame; dirt under glass; wear to frame paint; backing paper remnants still adhered to verso of frame.
