Etchings of London Featuring Rowland Langmaid
Item Details
By Hand
A collection of etchings of London, from plates by listed artist Rowland Langmaid (1897-1956) and printmaker Dorothy F. Sweet. This assortment of four depicts views of the low skyline as seen from boat-scattered waters, including Langmaid’s delicately-rendered St. Paul’s from The River, Tower Bridge, and Westminster. Sweet’s The Tower of London gives a less atmospheric view, the sky over the reflective water filled with birds. All four pieces are signed in pencil by the artist, Langmaid’s with embossed marks to the lower left and Sweet’s with a handwritten title, and are matted under glass in black frames with wires for hanging.
