Two hand colored engravings of the Garden of Versailles. These two framed intaglio prints include depictions of the The Triumphal Arch, and The Visto Between Chestnut Groves. Both prints are attributed in-plate to Rigauld Delin and sculptor R.Parr in the lower margin. Each are presented under reverse painted glass with French mats in gold tone wooden frames. Hanging wire are attached to the verso of both frames.
Condition
- The Triumphal Arch: toning; print has slipped from mounting; bottom edge of print has crease; tear in lower left corner; paper mat is buckling; black paint is flaking from verso of glass mat; residue under glass; frame has surface wear.
- The Visto: toning; paper mat buckling; residue under glass; paint flaking from verso of glass mat; frame has surface wear.
