A selection of hand-colored restrike engravings of hunt scenes by artist Richard Blome. These three prints on paper include Hunting the Hare, Hunting the Otter and Brook Hawking, all of which depict aristocratic men with their pack of dogs in pursuit of prey through a pastoral landscape. All three compositions originate from the 1686 publication, Gentleman’s Recreation. Each print contains a banister to the top margin featuring the title, as well as a printed crest and inscription to the lower margins. The prints are presented in a stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- all prints contain foxing and toning; residue under glass; frames have surface wear, scuff marks and scrapes; Brook Hawking has paper creases in lower left corner.
