Chilmark Mixed Media Painting on Canvas of Figures at a Carnival
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas with sand embellishments by artist Chilmark. The festive piece depicts a group of celebrating figures at a carnival scene, with children in striped shirts to the foreground set against a brightly colored background of trees, amusement rides and balloons. The work is signed in black paint to the lower right. It is presented without glass in a beveled gold tone wooden frame with embossed scrollwork and a linen liner to the front, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to Fair; rip to canvas at center right edge, with taped repair to verso; residue to canvas surface; minor edge wear and dust to frame; no backing paper present.
