A mid-century pastel drawing on paper attributed to listed Hoosier artist Paul Randall (1879 – 1933). The piece, titled Williams Creek, depicts a peaceful rural landscape scene, with a field surrounded by groves of trees and distant blue hills. The work is unsigned but includes a note to the verso written by an unknown hand that reads ‘Original Pastel by Paul A. Randall, WIlliams Creek’. The drawing is set over a tan background and presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame with embossed floral embellishments to the front.
Condition
- minor toning to paper; cracks and wear to finish of frame; wear and writing to frame backing; no backing paper or hanging hardware present.
