"Blue Onion" Porcelain including Meissen

Item Details

A collection of tableware and candlesticks in the Blue Onion pattern. There are three Meissen examples from the twentieth century in the popular underglaze blue decoration. This 1750’s pattern was derived from Chinese imagery but named in a manner that Germans and other Europeans could relate to. The pattern has been in production since that period by many firms including a piece in this collection which is as of yet unidentified. The other examples have the underglaze blue crossed swords marks for the Meissen factory.
