Qing Dynasty Chinese Porcelain Relief Snuff Bottle

Item Details

A late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) Chinese porcelain snuff bottle. The bottle features a three dimensional depiction of a raging battle scene in yellow, orange, blue, and red on an ivory colored ground. This bottle has a blood red glass cabochon accented stopper. The underside is marked with a four-character Qianlong reign mark (乾隆年制), however, it was likely produced in the late Qing dynasty.

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the institution’s mission-relevant collections
