After Édouard Debat-Ponsan Albumen Print "A Rest Along the Way"
Item Details
An albumen print on paper titled A Rest Along the Way after French academic painter Édouard Debat-Ponsan (1847 – 1913). This black and white photograph reproduces an original oil painting by the artist depicting two women on a lane with a cow and calf. The work is signed in print to the lower left, and dated 1890. It is presented under glass in a gold tone wood and gesso frame, with hanging wire affixed to the verso.
Condition
- some discoloration and stains to print from glue; chips and cracks to frame; wear to gold tone finish; tears and damage to backing.
