A Neoclassical style hand knotted wool area rug with a short dense pile. This handcrafted rug features repeating floral rosettes to the center field with alternating diamond shaped medallions in tones of wine red, black, moss green, blue and cream. The rug is framed with a stylized anthemion motif guard border, having overcast selvage edges and knotted cream warp fringe to opposite ends. Unmarked by the maker.
