Antique, Hand Crafted Marquetry Side Table, Circa Early Nineteenth Century
Item Details
An antique marquetry side table. This circa early nineteenth century hand crafted piece has an elaborate geometric design to the square top, which has cut corners. The design has a large starburst at center, bordered by a block line, concentric strips, and an outer border with parquetry grids, surrounded by crotch veneer. The outermost border and apron border are both a thin block line, which, along with larger block lines, is repeated on the turned pedestal. The four feet are styled scrolls, with a chevron design to the top. To the bottom, it has a hand written inscription on a paper label. The top screws on to the column via a hand carved wooden screw.
