A palace size Sarouk silk rug.This beautiful silk rug features a deep rose field with a line of central medallions surrounded by sprays of floral motifs, lotus blooms, and herati style motifs. The main indigo border along with the guard borders all show herati patterns, in colors of tans, dark brown, and red. The rug is finished with overcast edges with an applied ivory fringe to the ends, possibly from a repair or restoration. Unmarked.
