A needlepoint embroidered tapestry. This piece depicts a pastoral scene of a shepherdess with four sheep coming over the crest of a hill. She holds a distaff under one arm and is pulling wool to spin into yarn on her drop spindle. A large tree behind her is beginning to turn the colors of autumn. A stitched border of elaborate florals frames the main imagery. A tag states that the piece was mad in China. It is presented stretched over a wooden frame.
