Holland Signed Oil Painting on Canvas Re-Mounted to Board of Worker at Rest
Item Details
An antique oil painting originally completed on canvas and later re-mounted to board of a worker at rest, signed in paint to the lower right by artist Holland. The painting depicts a seated woman resting in the fields drinking from a cup and holding food while others continue working around her. The painting is presented in a gold tone wood frame with a cast floral design along its legs. A wire for hanging purposes and a framer’s decal are present to the verso of the frame.
Condition
- moderate craquelure across entire piece. Painting has been removed from its original stretcher bars and remounted on rigid board as conservation measure.
