Hand-Painted Framed Italian Ceramic Tile of a Woman and Child
Item Details
A hand-painted Italian ceramic tile of a woman and child. This work features a woman in a red dress holding a squirming, nude baby. The tile is housed within a decorative ceramic border, which is sandwiched between two gilded wood frames. It is unsigned. ‘Made in Italy’ is inscribed to the verso. There is no hanging hardware present.
Condition
- chipping and advanced wear to wood frames; visible crazing to the ceramic glaze; composition sits loose within the outermost frame.
