An antique French watercolor caricature of a soldier. Hand lettered below is the inscription in French ‘fourrier, plus tard nous causerous de tout cela’, which roughly translates to ‘Quartermaster, we’ll talk about this later’. Also signed bottom right ‘Letuaire 1883’. Pierre Letuaire (179801885) was a French painter, illustrator and cartoonist from Toulon. The painting measures 6′ × 9′.
