1965 M.J. Kreigbaum Nonobjective Collage Painting on Panel

A nonobjective collage painting on panel, by artist M.J. Kreigbaum. This work uses warm tones of tissue paper with creamy white oil paint to render an inviting arrangement of mostly-rectangular shapes. The transparent qualities of the paper is used to create a feeling of depth, with the negative space carved out with the thick swathes of paint. The piece is signed and dated ‘’65’ to its lower right corner, and is mounted in a grayish wooden frame with a wire for hanging.

- panel is loose in frame; staining to surface; worn frame finish; wear to edges and corners.
