Collection of Edgar Yaeger Sketches

Item Details

A collection of nine Classical sketches by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997), ranging from 1935-1982. The works include a variety of mediums ranging from graphite to ink. Included are logo designs for The Scarab Club, an organization founded by artists in Detroit in 1907, dedicated to the visual, auditory and literary arts. Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico.
