Collection of Edgar Yaeger Sketches

A collection of ten landscape and cityscape sketches by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904 – 1997), ranging from 1931-1938. The works include a variety of mediums including graphite, ink, and charcoal. All works are on paper and many are signed and dated by the artist. Presented as a loose group without frames or mats.
Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.

- to fair; toning to paper; a couple of small tears are present; some wear to edge of paper.
