An oil painting on canvas titled Garden Grosse Pte. War Memorial by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997), created in 1981. Portrayed with splotches of vibrant colors and loose brushstrokes, this impressionistic work features an extensive landscaped garden populated with various colorful flowers, shrubbery, and trees. The work is dated and signed to the lower left. It is presented in an ornate gilt and gesso frame with acanthus leaf and floral molding. The title of the work is handwritten to the verso.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Edgar Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. His work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
