Vintage Italian Silver Plate Resin Pekingese Style Figurine

A vintage Italian resin dog figurine. This piece is in the form of a pekingese with a silver-plated finish and chased hair. The underside is stamped with an ‘R’ mark, which stands for riempito or filled, ‘3 ÷ 5 g’ meaning that the figurine was coated in three to five grams of silver, and 925. The piece is additionally stamped with an an oval cartouche marked ‘FI’ for the province Firenze and maker’s mark number of 917. This style of mark dates between 1944 and 1968.
