Conte Crayon

A conte crayon drawing on tan paper of a coastal house. This drawing depicts a lone house held on a risen platform surrounded by water. Protruding from the back door is an extended, wooden bridge which wraps around to a sandy shore. The scene is rendered with smudged layering of black values reinforced with stout, white linework. To the lower right corner of the composition is an illegible artist signature and what appears to be a date, listed September 20, 1983. The drawing is presented under glass beneath a single-layered mat in a gold tone and gray wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
