A hand-knotted Sino-Persian area rug. This artificial silk on cotton rug features floral sprays throughout the field in a palette of red, mauve, lilac, green, blue, and cream. The primary border offers a herati pattern flanked by guard borders with a floral motif. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a wool warp fringe at either end. A tag marked ‘China’ and ‘Line Silk’ is attached to the reverse.
