Hand-Knotted Iranian Bakhtiari Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Bakhtiari area rug. This wool rug features a floral medallion lozenge with palmettes and tulips throughout the field in a palette of red, cream, caramel, grey and black. The primary border offers palmettes and rosettes and is flanked by a carnation meander guard border. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a wool warp fringe at either end. A tag marked ‘Iran’ is attached to the reverse.
