Edith Woodard Bell Double Oil Painting of Floral Arrangement and Pastoral Landscape

A double oil painting, featuring a floral arrangement to one side and a landscape to the other, the still life signed by Indiana artist Edith Woodard Bell (1882-1971). The landscape depicts a line of buildings partially obscured by lush trees, and is painted directly on the board, and the still life depicts a greenish vase filled with carefully-rendered red and white flowers. The floral arrangement, painted on canvas which has been mounted to the board verso, is signed to the lower right. This work is presented unframed without hanging hardware.

Condition

- bottom of canvas peeling and fraying; surface abrasion on canvas at lower left; scuffs and chips along bottom edge of board.
