A set of Central American rustic carved wooden folk art pieces, similar in style to works made in Mexico and Guatemala. Featured are four wooden masks including a red horned devil mask with painted features and a raised striped snake coiled around the mouth and forehead. Other masks include a jaguar, a goat and a painted face with metal crown, blue eyes, black mustache and red lips. Also included is a carved stylized lion figure with open mouth and large teeth; it features a black painted finish embellished with red dots and yellow accents. All items are unsigned.
Condition
- heavy wear and weathering to all items with scuffing and paint loss; small chips and cracks present; metal crown on the smallest mask is loose, bent and heavily rusted.
