Item Details
An antique oil painting on academy board. This painting depicts the portrait of a smiling gypsy woman wearing a yellow headscarf with hoop earrings, a red shawl, and a white peasant dress against a dark muted background. It is hand signed illegibly to the lower left corner and presents in a gilded frame featuring carved plaster detailing on wood. The verso is aged and presents with a mounting rope.
Condition
- the painting is dirty and has a paint chip in center; frame abrasion and craquelure.
- the front of the frame is in poor condition: chipped, worn, and cracked throughout.
- marks and wear to verso.
